Important Nothings

My dear Cassandra, where shall I begin? Which of all my important nothings shall I tell you first?

Jane Austen, June 15, 1808

All those important nothings.

We often overlook the little things that can have a big and small influence in our lives. Acts of kindness, gratitude, humour…. whether giving or receiving, they are life’s gems.

A smile.

A kind word.

Making someone giggle.

Inspiring a stranger.

Encouraging a friend.

Sipping tea in solitude.

Fresh flowers in a vase.

Hand written notes.

Acknowledging your own growth - intelligently, emotionally, creatively.

Simply being thankful.

Writing a blog? Who knows?

All the important nothings.

This is where I start.

Nothing too deep, just my ramblings. My hope is to encourage, maybe inspire but ideally make you smile. I will share ideas, perhaps a recipe, a recent internet find, sewing tips, and most importantly updates on all things going on in my Nelly and Isobel studio. With due warning, I do love nostalgia and see treasures in the ordinary.

Join me as I meander through my creative journey.

Welcome to Important Nothings.
